The 2009 Home Renovation TAX CREDIT

Now, more than ever, consumers are looking to add value to their biggest investment - their home. With the new 2009 Home Renovation Tax Credit (HRTC), you can claim up to $1,350 on your 2009 federal income tax return on eligible purchases as defined by the Canadian Revenue Agency.

Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) sets the eligibility criteria for the Home Renovation Tax Credit (HRTC). The Home Depot assumes no responsibility with respect to the customer's eligibility for the HRTC for purchases made at The Home Depot, and cannot guarantee anything with respect to the customer's purchases and the HRTC. It is the customer's responsibility to inform him/herself of the details of the HRTC eligibility directly from the CRA or other government sources, in order to ensure purchases meet the criteria for the credit. Notably, eligibility for the HRTC may depend on the use a customer makes of a given product and The Home Depot cannot make any representations in that regard.

The information provided above, including The Home Depot HRTC eligible products and services list, sets out The Home Depot's understanding of the HRTC and is not meant to be relied on or taken as tax or legal advice. To ensure the accuracy of this information and its application to you, please review the documentation published by the CRA.
